SEO for therapists in AI search

When someone asks AI for a therapist near them, it should say your practice.

SEO for therapists used to mean a link on a results page. We sell one position instead: your practice named inside the answer an assistant writes when somebody nearby asks who to see and whether you take their insurance. We measure it in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode, on 10 questions agreed with you. $1,000 a month, named by AI in 90 days or every dollar back.

See what it costs

3-month minimum as it takes time to show results, then month to month. One practice per city. Screenshots every 30 days.

What we do

SEO for therapists, built for one job.

Most therapist marketing is a directory subscription and a hope. Most private practice marketing beyond that is a redesign and some paid search. None of it decides what an assistant says when somebody types how they have been feeling and asks who nearby could help. We work on the thing that does: the pages, the directory profiles and the records an answer is written from.

That is a different job, and it is measured differently. Not a keyword position, not impressions. Ten real client questions, run in a fresh logged-out session every 30 days, and a count of how many of them name you.

Everything we build to get there, the specialty pages, the fees and insurance pages, the telehealth page, the structured data and the corrected directory profiles, is yours to keep whether you stay or not.

Why this industry

One new weekly client covers the year twice over.

A private practice does not need volume. It needs the right few people to find it. The practice AI names is the one the person already looking for help is told about first.

01

They ask AI first now

45% of US consumers now use ChatGPT or another AI tool to find local business recommendations, up from 6% a year earlier.

02

The question is already being asked

Can you recommend a therapist for anxiety in [city]? That question gets answered today, in one paragraph, with two to five names in it. There is no page two.

03

The maths is not close

One new weekly client covers the year twice over. Being in the answer costs $1,000 a month.

How AI decides

What AI reads before it names a therapist.

This is the one local category with a single dominant directory. Assistants lean on it heavily, and a thin or stale profile there is the most common reason a practice is invisible.

  1. 01

    Psychology Today

The most cited source in this category by a distance. Fill every field: specialties, modalities, the insurance panels you are on, the fee, whether you have openings, the ages you work with, and a photo. This is the first thing to fix and the one that moves most.

  2. 02

    Google Business Profile

Primary category, the specialties as services, real hours including any evening slots, and the questions section seeded with what people ask before they book a first session.

  3. 03

    Bing Places

ChatGPT search runs on Bing. Free, quick, and the listing almost nobody in private practice has claimed.

  4. 04

    Insurance panel directories

Every carrier you are in network with keeps its own provider finder. These answer the does that therapist take my plan question, and they are wrong more often than any other record a practice owns.

  5. 05

    Zocdoc and Healthgrades

Both are cited in health answers, and Zocdoc carries availability as well as identity, which is what the taking new clients question is really about.

The part most therapist marketing misses

This is the one industry on this site where we do not ask clients for reviews, and we will tell you not to. Most licensure boards and professional codes restrict soliciting testimonials, so the work here is directory profiles, clear pages and referral relationships instead. It works because the directories carry so much of the answer.

The prompts we measure

The 10 questions your customers ask AI.

Swap [city] for yours. These are the shapes of question people put to an assistant, taken from how buyers in this industry actually ask.

At kickoff we lock these 10 for your city. They are the guarantee.

Your city

We have not published the AI snapshot for your city yet.

We have run and published city by city snapshots for med spas. For this industry we run them one market at a time, on request. Ask for the free check and we run your 10 questions through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode and send you the dated screenshots of who is named today.

No call required to get it. If the answer in your city is already owned, we tell you and we decline the market.

See what a published city snapshot looks like on the med spa hub, where we have published what AI answers city by city.

How it works

Free check. Agreed prompts. 90 days to the answer.

  1. STEP 1

    Free AI visibility check

    Day 0

We run 10 real client questions for your city through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode and send you the screenshots: which therapists are named today, and whether the answer is still open. If it is not, we tell you and you pay nothing.

  2. STEP 2

    Kickoff: we agree the prompts

    Week 1

Together we lock the 10 questions your customers actually ask, in writing. That list is the guarantee.

  3. STEP 3

    The 90-day build

    Weeks 1 to 12

AI-readable website fixes (or a rebuild if yours cannot be fixed), structured data, Google Business Profile and Bing Places overhaul, listings on the sources AI cites for your industry, 2 to 4 new answer pages a month, and a review engine.

  4. STEP 4

    Proof

    Every 30 days

We re-run the same 10 questions and send screenshots and a simple scorecard. Day 90: your private practice is named, or you get a full refund.

Everything for $1,000 a month. Nothing sold separately.

$1,000/ month

3-month minimum as it takes time to show results, then month to month. Cancel anytime after.

  • The full monthly build and the monthly 10-prompt measurement
  • Named-by-AI guarantee
  • Site and content are yours to keep
  • One practice per city, for as long as you stay

Compare: local marketing retainers in these industries typically run $3,000 to $10,000 a month with no guarantee at all.

  • 10-prompt AI visibility baseline with screenshots
  • AI-readable website fixes, or a rebuild (up to 10 pages) if needed
  • LocalBusiness, Service and FAQ structured data
  • Google Business Profile and Bing Places overhaul
  • Listings on the directories and review sites AI cites for your industry
  • 2 to 4 new pages a month answering real customer questions
  • Review request engine (we draft everything)
  • Monthly re-run of your 10 prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode
  • Simple monthly scorecard: named in 7 of 10, up from 1
  • One business per industry per city, exclusivity for as long as you stay
  • Everything we build stays yours, even if you leave or take the refund
  • Specialty, fees, insurance and telehealth pages written for how people ask, kept free of any clinical outcome claim, and no client review requests, because most boards restrict soliciting testimonials

Guides for therapists

How to get named, without hiring anyone.

Two guides written for owners. One is the master guide on getting named by ChatGPT. The other is the search version: the listings and profiles AI checks, the pages that answer real questions, and the structured data to add. Nothing in either one needs an agency.

The general library covers the rest: all guides.

The guarantee

Named by AI in 90 days, or every dollar back.

Read the full guarantee termsWhat the free check includes

We lock 10 buyer questions for your services and your city in writing at kickoff. By day 90 your business has to be named in at least 5 of those 10 questions on at least 2 of the 3 tools we measure: ChatGPT in a fresh logged-out session, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode. Dated screenshots every 30 days. If we miss, you get 100% of the 3 months back and you keep the website, the pages and the listings.

Questions

What owners ask before they start.

How is this different from paying for a directory listing?
It is not instead of one. Psychology Today is the most cited source in this category and you should keep it. We make that profile complete and consistent with your website, and then build the pages an assistant needs to say something specific about you rather than list you among twenty.
What does SEO for therapists cost?
Agencies in this space commonly charge a few thousand dollars a month for content and ads with no promise attached. We charge $1,000 a month with a 3-month minimum as it takes time to show results, then month to month. No setup fee, no ad spend, nothing sold separately, and every dollar back if you are not named by day 90.
Do you ask our clients for reviews?
No. Most therapy licensure boards and professional codes restrict soliciting testimonials from clients, and a review request to a current client is an ethics problem rather than a marketing tactic. We build the directory profiles, the pages and the referral relationships instead, and we say so on every page.
What exactly do you guarantee?
10 client questions for your specialties and city, agreed in writing at kickoff. By day 90 your practice has to be named in at least 5 of the 10 on at least 2 of the 3 tools we measure: ChatGPT in a fresh logged-out session, Perplexity and Google AI Mode. If we miss, you get 100% of the 3 months back and keep everything we built.
Will anything on the site claim therapy works?
No. Nothing we publish promises relief, recovery, a cure or a number of sessions to feeling better, and we never state a success rate. Pages describe the modalities you offer, who you work with, your licence and training, your fee, your insurance panels and what a first session involves. You review every page before it goes live.
Do we have to publish our fee?
Yes, or a range at minimum, plus your sliding scale policy if you have one. How much is therapy without insurance is one of the most asked questions there is. An assistant cannot ring you for rates, so a page that says contact for fees gives it nothing to repeat and it repeats the practice down the road instead.
We do telehealth. Does that change anything?
It helps, and it needs its own page. State every jurisdiction you hold a licence in, because online therapist in my state is a real question and it is one of the few that has a hard, checkable answer. Never imply coverage in a state where you do not hold a licence.
What do you need from us?
About an hour at kickoff, access to your Google Business Profile, website and Psychology Today profile, your licence details and the states they cover, your modalities, your fee and sliding scale policy, your insurance panels, and your sign off on every page before it goes live.
