39.9% of the 1,352 med spa websites we read show a price somewhere, on the homepage or a linked pricing page. That figure was already published in the KKV Med Spa AI Answer Index; this study is the deeper read.
Pricing is not a naming driver. Named clinics show a price 40.5% of the time against 39.7% for unnamed clinics, a gap of under a point. Whatever gets a med spa named by an AI answer, it is not whether the site publishes a price.
37.4% of med spas (506 of the 1,352 read) run a booking tool but show no price anywhere: they will let a stranger book an appointment before telling them what anything costs. And of sites that link a pricing page at all, a fresh live sample found a slim majority do not actually show a dollar figure on it.

By state
Price share, state by state.
States with 15 or more sites read only, 29 of 34 qualify. Named-versus-unnamed swings hardest in the smaller states, which is exactly what a 15-to-60-site base predicts: treat any single state's named or unnamed split as noisy under about 30 sites.

By city
The top and bottom 10 cities.
The 25 largest cities in the med spa index by named-lead count, most of them 6 to 12 sites read. A single clinic adding or removing a price page moves a city's share by 10 or more points: read these as which cities to open a pricing conversation with, not as a stable ranking.

What kind of price is shown
The 60-site live sample.
The stored crawl only records whether a homepage links a pricing or menu page, never the page's own text, so a full-menu-versus-teaser breakdown could not be read from it. To answer that, 60 of the 380 med spa sites flagged with a pricing link were sampled at random (seed fixed for reproducibility) and fetched live on 2026-09-15: the homepage was refetched, the actual pricing URL was pulled from its markup, and that page was fetched fresh.
Of the 60 attempted, 16 homepages would not load live at all, 5 no longer carried a pricing-shaped link, and 2 had a link that would not load: 23 of 60 in total, never counted as "no price" below: a fetch failure is a gap in this sample, not a finding about the site.
37 of 60 were fetched and classified. Read carefully: of sites that link a pricing page at all, a slim majority turn out not to show an actual dollar figure on it when fetched fresh today. Where a price is shown, it is overwhelmingly a full itemized menu, not a "starting at" teaser.
| Category | Count | Share of the 37 classified |
|---|---|---|
| Full menu with dollar amounts (3+ prices) | 16 | 43.2% |
| Some dollar amounts shown (1 to 2 prices) | 1 | 2.7% |
| Starting at language only | 0 | 0% |
| Call for pricing language detected | 0 | 0% |
| No dollar amount found on refetch | 20 | 54.1% |
| Fetch failures, not counted above | 23 | of 60 attempted |

What it means
What it means for a med spa.
An AI answer to a price question is only as good as the pages it can read a price from. A clinic with a published menu page wins the price prompts almost by default, because so few competitors publish one at all.
That is a different prompt from "best med spa in this city," which this study finds pricing barely moves. A menu page is worth building for the price questions specifically, not as a way to win the recommendation question.
See the 10 questions med spa patients ask AI (report 02) for the full prompt library this maps onto, and where a price page helps and where it does not.
Method
How this study is built.
- The crawl
- From the med spa crawl behind the KKV Med Spa AI Answer Index: 1,352 homepages read of 1,531 attempted, crawled 10 Sep 2026 from India.
- The pricing signal
- A homepage counts as showing a price when it prints 2 or more dollar figures, or links a page whose URL contains a pricing word (pricing, prices, price-list, menu, rates, fees and similar). It is a floor: a price one click deeper that this pattern misses, or one quoted only by phone, does not count.
- Named and unnamed
- Named is the 341 read sites Google AI Mode named in its city answer; unnamed is the other 1,011. Same-day comparison, not a cause: named clinics were named for reasons this crawl cannot see.
- The 60-site live sample
- Sampled and fetched fresh on 15 Sep 2026, five days after the original crawl, specifically to read what kind of price a linked pricing page actually shows. A handful of the 60 may have changed since the original crawl.
- What we are not claiming
- Nothing here says a clinic that shows a price is better run than one that does not, or that publishing a menu page will get a clinic named. It says what the market looks like today for price questions specifically.
- Same-day comparison, not a cause
- Every named-versus-unnamed number in this study is a same-day reading, not an experiment. It cannot say why a clinic was named, only what its homepage carried on the day it was read.
